Part 19: Renovations - Renovations - Renovations

As described in the previous article, major bathroom renovations are when more space than what could be gotten by utilizing unneeded space adjacent to the proposed new bathroom within the footprint of the existing residence. Renovations beyond the footprint of the house are actually addition-renovations. An addition requires much planning and many various approvals along with good plans within the local building codes and guidelines. An architect is not needed if the homeowner has a plan, off the internet or from a design magazine, and has a builder with several pictures of completed jobs with good references. Please be sure the contractor has strong experience with good reviews. Obviously the more experience the more confidence you can have that the project will run smoothly and have excellent results.
